History & Beliefs

Our History

In March of 1995, Elder Jack Briggs felt the call of God elevating him to the position of pastor while under the leadership of the late Suffragan Bishop Horace M. Young at Greater Faith Temple Apostolic Church. After receiving further direction from the Lord, he converted the garage of his home into a thirty-seat sanctuary and started Peace Apostolic Church. During this time, God’s presence was ever present, and souls were delivered both spiritually and physically. In October of 2001, Peace Apostolic Church moved to its present location. God has blessed Elder Jack Briggs to make improvements and additions such as the installation of a baptismal pool and additional classrooms. While faithfully serving the church and the community, Elder Jack Briggs was elevated to the office of District Elder where he oversees and assists pastors and churches in his district.

In November of 2019, District Elder Jack Briggs passed the mantle to his son and current pastor of Peace Apostolic Church, Elder Rory A. Briggs. At 20 years of age Elder Briggs accepted his call to the ministry under the leadership of Elder Jack Briggs. Elder Rory Briggs served as the Minister of Music at Peace Apostolic Church and received his ordination as Elder in the June of 2007. In addition to serving as Minister of Music, he also served in the capacity of Assistant Pastor at Peace Apostolic Church. Elder Briggs received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. In December of 2019, he received his Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling and works as a Guidance Counselor for Northside ISD. He is a gifted vocalist, song writer and musician. He is happily married to the lovely Lady Carlette Briggs of Austin, Texas. He is a devoted husband and loving father of their son Jacory Briggs.

Elder Rory Briggs views himself as a humble servant of the Lord who is devoted to fulfilling the call of God on his life and faithfully carries the message of God’s love through the spoken word and song.

OUR VISION IS SIMPLE....

To be a church that is intentional about loving God and loving people.

OUR MISSION....

Peace Apostolic Church is called to be a beacon of hope for the lost by spreading the gospel and equipping and empowering God’s people.

Our Beliefs

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe the bible is the only God-given authority which man possesses; therefore, all doctrine, faith, hope and all instruction for the church must be based upon and harmonized with the bible. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe in the Oneness of God—that there are three manifestations of the one God:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe the name by which God is known is Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the virgin birth, death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We believe in the baptism in water in the name of Jesus according to Acts 2:38, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance according to Acts 2:4. This constitutes the new birth spoken of by the Lord Jesus Christ in John 3:5.

We believe in living a holy, consecrated, and sanctified life.

We believe in the translation of the saints, commonly known as the rapture.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17.
